Quad-Core CPUs

The quad-core CPUs from Intel will mix both technologies. They will have two monolithic dual-core chips installed together in a single package. A quad-core CPU has four processing units on one chip, this first quad-core from Intel is actually two dual-core CPUs on the same chip. CPU at 1ghz, a quad-core CPU is not four times as fast as a single core. Like most desktop technology, quad-core CPUs have migrated from the server market. A quad-core CPU is only about 25% faster that a dual-core CPU. The performance varies depending on hardware configuration, software etc.

Intel Processors

Without this, a PC cannot work and the leading manufacturer of this microprocessor is : Intel. Intel makes Celerons, Pentium 4s and Centrinos (mobile Pentium processor with extra chips to control wireless Internet connections). There are two methods to built multi-core CPUs. On the first one, called “multi-chip”, each core is made by different chips that are put together in a single package. Pentium D is a good example of a dual-core CPU that uses this approach. The second approach is called “monolithic”. Here the cores are already manufactured in only one chip. This is the technology used by Core 2 Duo CPUs, for example.

Desktop Vs Laptop

Like the size of desktops and laptos, desktop computer is some what bigger to hold more RAM than a laptop. The space in a desktop computer will often allow the user to choose almost unlimited accessories and options that a laptop computer just may not have the space to hold. Things like a top speed processor, the latest state of the art sound and graphics cards, extra ports for external linking and more than enough storage space for all of the programs, music and video clips that you'll ever need. The most prominent advantage a laptop computer holds over its desktop counter part is portability. You can carry a laptop and do your work wherever it is necessary, while traveling also, you can finish your work. The laptop computers of today have much better technology in them than the laptops of yesterday.

Desktop Computers

Before buying a computer, one has to think about the requirement, time spent before the computer, use of computer – is it only for personal use, for
typing documents, preparing slide shows, internet usage or for any other project. The different shapes and sizes, the wide range of configurations, and the seemingly constant arrival of new and faster technology all make for a difficult decision. A desktop with a dual-core CPU and enough power to run productivity apps, view and edit vacation photos, manage MP3s and videos, and play games, which is most popular activity among children and students and the general purpose PC user.

Uses of Computers

A personal computer is primarily used, interactively, by one person at a time. Today a Personal Computer may be a desktop computer, a laptop computer or a tablet computer. The most common operating systems are Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, Software applications for personal computers include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, games, high-speed or dial-up connections to the Internet, allowing access to the World Wide Web and a wide range of other resources. A PC may be a home computer, or may be found in an office, often connected to a local area network. While early PC owners usually had to write their own programs to do anything useful with the machines, today's users have access to a wide range of commercial and non-commercial software which is easily installed

History of Computers

A personal computer capability has changed greatly since the introduction of electronic computers. By the early 1970s, people in academic or research institutions had the opportunity for single-person use of a computer system . The introduction of the microprocessor, a single chip with all the circuitry that formerly occupied large cabinets, led to the proliferation of personal computers after about 1975. The peripherals reqiored for a computer such as keyboards, computer terminals, disk drives, and printers are developed in a sophisticated manner. Now a days, we cannot imagine an office, bank, architectural establishment, engineering departments, even hospitals and residences without a computer. Even local area networking, originally a way to allow business computers to share expensive mass storage and peripherals, became a standard feature of the personal computers used at home.

Bad effects of television on children

Children`s television programmes began in the 1950s. By 1951 television showed up to 27 hours per week of television programmes aimed at children. It is good passive pastime for children continuously watching television programs, may be animated or violoent or any other stuff which is not at all useful for children. Children who watch violence develop negativity in their thoughts and become agressive.

In terms of health, the main problem is obesity through a lack of exercise, and so television has been blamed for this in part. This is because watching television distracts the receptors in the brain which let the child know when they are full. Television is like any other factor in life; it can have positive effects in moderation. There are no suggested guidelines for television viewing, and so it is down to personal and family choice.

Weight Loss

Vegetarian Diet

They happily munch on carrots, chew on celery sticks, eat tofu, and throw veggie burgers on the grill. People decide to give up meat, and become vegetarians for a number of reasons, including medical issues such as allergies, or high cholesterol. They change their way of life for nutritional reasons, such as food safety, weight loss, or general health improvement and most commonly, because of their determination to not consume living animals. Animal products contain fat and cholesterol, which is what many of today's health conscious people try to avoid.

Positive Thinking

What is positive thinking exactly? When you talk about someone with a positive mindset, you probably imagine this person to live a life of denial, covering up their true feelings and pretending that everything is fine even when everything appears to be doomed.

It's about learning to adjust the way you think and feel about the events and experiences of your life, rather than letting the events which happen to you determine your mood. Undoubtedly, it is crucial for you to understand what is positive thinking exactly if you wish to be in control of your emotions and success.

As we encounter various setbacks in life, it's totally understandable that it's normal to feel down and even self-pitying. However, by being negative to all that happens to you is definitely not going to help things at all.Hence, if you want positive things to happen to you, you've simply got to adopt a positive mindset all the time. There is a simple rule that you should apply to your thinking in everything you do.Think Positively and you will get positive results.Think Negatively and you will get negative results.

There are bound to be many negative people whom you will meet in life. These people will forever be worrying about almost every single thing they can think of. Ask yourself honestly, would you rather hang out with people who are perpetually complaining and worrying or would you want to hang out with people who are full of energy and optimism. Positive people are charismatic and people love to be friends with the. So be that person with the positive mindset too!

Cardio-Vascular Exercises

When you want to find the best cardio activity for you, consider your personal preferences as well as your body. If you hate getting hot and sweaty during a workout, then running is probably not for you. If you like trying new workouts that keep you engaged and entertained, consider an instructor-led belly dancing class. People who prefer to exercise alone should probably just avoid the gym during busy hours. If you have bad joints, avoid high impact classes like step aerobics and kick boxing. Everyone is different, not just in personality but in body as well, and that can mean great things in terms of workouts. There is a huge variety of exercises that burn serious calories and you’re sure to find one that appeals to you. To burn fat and reshape your body, you can’t beat cardiovascular exercise. The five important cardio-vascular exercises are:

1. Swimming and Water Aerobics
Swimming should be the king of all workouts for its user-friendly status and low stress on the body. If you fit in three 45-minute swimming workouts every week, you will see major changes in your body in just two to three weeks. Freestyle is good but you burn far more calories when you mix it up and challenge the body to respond.

2. Power Walking (at home)
A power walking life up to its name and requires you to put out a lot more power than a stroll around the block. In power walking, you swing your arms back and forth as you walk briskly – this helps to burn calories as well as propel you through your walk faster. Increasing the speed will boost your calorie burn even higher. An excellent variation for a power walking routine is to add arm movements a few days per week. As you walk briskly, raise your arms overhead and bring back down to the pace of your walk. This can seriously raise your heart rate and increase your fat burn.

3. Power Walking (at the gym)
Power walking at the gym is as easy as hopping on the nearest programmable treadmill and setting off. If you are not sure how to program the treadmill, ask a trainer or knowledgeable friend to show you how. You should choose a walking route that includes inclines and changes to surprise and challenge your muscles. Use the same variation from the home power walking and add arm movements to increase heart rate and calorie burn.

4. Belly Dancing
Belly dancing won’t burn quite as many calories as swimming or power walking, but for sheer fun and novelty this workout can’t be beat. Belly dancing has become wildly popular across the nation in the past few years and nearly all gyms offer at least one class for interested parties. You will work your hips, thighs and waistline in a typical class as well as increase your aerobic capacity. And who knows, your belly dancing skill might come in handy some day!

5. Ashtanga Yoga
The most physical form of yoga is Ashtanga yoga, which uses the same traditional yoga poses but incorporates powerful aerobic conditioning at the same time. You will move quickly and powerfully in a fast-paced routine that is led by a certified instructor who is experienced in moves that boost your heart rate and burn the calories.
